Quick and Easy Flatbread Recipe




Ingredients


1 C Warm Water

2t Active Yeast

1 C AP Flour


1/4 C Olive Oil

3 C AP Flour

1t Salt


Directions


Combine water, yeast, and flour in a bowl. Cover and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Next, add in oil, remaining flour, and salt. Mix until well combine and then knead thoroughly for 2 minutes. In an oiled bowl, place dough and cover and allow to rise in a warm place. You can place this bowl in a closed microwave or in an oven with the light on, but oven off. Allow dough to rise for 30 minutes. Once dough has risen, remove from bowl and remove a medium size portion of dough. The dough makes three small pizzas. Stretch dough until it is about 1/2 cm thick. Dough rough should be able to fit into a large non-stick pan or cast-iron pan.


Turn stove eye on high heat. In an oiled, hot pan, add dough round. When the surface of the dough has many bubbles, flip to the other side and cook for a minute or so. Flip one last time, cooking for 30 seconds to a minute. Remove from pan and transfer to pizza pan. If using a cast-iron, remove pan from hot eye and proceed with adding toppings. Once pizza toppings are on, place in a preheated 400 F oven and bake until cheese is melted and slightly golden. Keep an eye on the pizza to prevent over cooking.
